At Metro East Unitarian Universalist Congregation, we believe that religious education is a vital part of nurturing young spirits. Our curricula focus on the values we share as Unitarian Universalists, such as interdependence, equity, transformation, pluralism, generosity, justice, and, of course, love.
From September to May, our Children’s Religious Education (RE) classes meet during worship services. Children, kindergarten age and older, begin the service in the sanctuary and, after the “Story for All Ages,” are dismissed to attend their classes. Religious education at Metro East Unitarian Universalist Congregation isn’t just for children. We offer a range of opportunities for adults to explore, enrich, and educate themselves about our liberal religious heritage, common values, and personal spiritual journeys.
Sunday mornings at our congregation are filled with opportunities for adults to share in the exploration of our faith. Adult Religious Education (RE) classes and interest groups meet after Sunday services and at other times during the week. These sessions provide a space for adults to question, explore, observe, and imagine in a supportive and stimulating environment.
Our adult RE programs cover a wide range of topics, including:
Information about the subjects of each activity can be found in our “Church This Week” bulletin or in the current church newsletter. Adult RE builds community, educates on topics, and offers hands-on ways to make a difference in our community.
For more information about our adult RE programs, feel free to reach out to our Minister or check our newsletter for upcoming events and activities. We look forward to welcoming you!
